Icewind Dale 3 when?????

Hoping for a toolset that'll allow modders to recreate IWD games.

I’d pay money if they remake it with Divinity/ BG3 engine and the BG3 rule set including the home brew one.

I think icewind Dale was way more bland than Baldur's Gate so I'm not expecting any follow-up.

A new game in teh world of Planescape would be great tho!

IMO IWD had less content of higher quality.

I disagree, IWD fills that pulp fantasy niche better than any other places along the Sword Coast. I've actually enjoyed IWD 1 more than I did the OG Baldur's Gate so that's why I would love to see a return to my beloved IWD.

I also enjoyed Icewind Dale 1 $ 2, I don't think it was any superior to BG 1 and especially BG 2 but that's my opinin, agree to disagree and all that.

I p[ersonally woldn't mind if Icewind Dale never has a 3rd opus, then again if it is on the lever of BG3 IU'd tyake a game with any name.

I still think teh settingh of Planescape would make for a most insteresting RPG.

Aight well I really don't care about planscape, no one else brought it up lol. there are other settings I feel deserve a return in video game form before planscape, like Dark Sun. But rn I wanna see IWD 3.

IMO IWD had less content of higher quality.

IWD was less story driven and more action focused. I don't call that higher quality.

The time spawn between IWD1 and 2 doesn't make them sequels either. Icewind Dale is just a location in Forgotten Realms.

Aight well I really don't care about planscape, no one else brought it up lol. there are other settings I feel deserve a return in video game form before planscape, like Dark Sun. But rn I wanna see IWD 3.

And I don't fcare qabout Ice2wind Dale, noone else broughjt it AFAIK. Icewind Dale was teh axtion focuses son of BG using the same engine and was way less content rich than Planescape, you're freeto ask for Icewind Dale 3 And I am free to ask for a new game in Plancescape setting.

I hope that Larian will not be working on it as everything good what made ID would be definitely gone. Knowing Larian, there would be a minimap at the size of a half of your monitor and quest markers and arrows telling you where to go because Larian thinks you are not smart enough to figure it out on your own.

If WotC continues the trend, it'll be a sequel to 5e's Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden and not a sequel to 3e's Icewind Dale 2... possibly even based more on One D&D UA instead of 5e given how WotC keeps insisting people can play 1DnD with 5e... kinda like how BG3 has some 1DnD rules in it versus 5e.

Well in fact 80% of the players are indeed not smart enough to figure it out so some arrows, markers and a big map with big signs telling you where to go would be a great thing !

Do Larian games have quest markers? I don't remember seeing any so this is an odd take.
