How to set Pixie Free?

Third playthrough, I want to set the Pixie free. I have the Moon Lantern.
How in the nine hells do I set her free?
Everywhere I look, people say interacting with the Moon Lantern will start a cutscene.
How do I interact with it?
In all 3 playthroughs all I can do is equip it and walk around. I've been scanning forums and YouTube videos for the past hour and nothing tells me how to activate this blasted lantern so I can free her.

I see people say there is an interaction button on your hotbar, but I am not seeing it. If they mean the torch icon, then all i do is equip it when I press that button.

Edit: It seems that you can only free the pixie from the Lantern that the Drider gives you.

This is the Moonlantern I have. Unless there is a different one that I don't know about.

for me it's the lantern you get from the spider guy

and have you tried right click on the lantern in the inventory and pick 'use' option?

I don't have a use option on mine. Just Equip, throw, drop, or give to someone else.

I believe you have to have it equipped. There then should then be a bluish button under the General Tab or section, whatever its called in the hotbars.

I have no such button. Do you have a screenshot of where this button is or what it looks like? Cause I can't find anything on my hotbar that is new.

Might be how you got it. I didn't have an option to free mine ether when I was playing my play through where I had Nere give me the lyre to play and summon he spider dude. Only time i had the option to free it was if i got ti via ambushing he spider guy.

Where did you got it from? How did you get it?

when you have it equipped there should be an option in the attack bar at the bottom of the screen, click that. i think at least.

This might be it. I've never killed the spider guy, I just don't have the heart. I always get the lantern from the tower.

You don't have to kill the spider guy, you can shoo him away and then he will drop the lantern

I believe it only works for the lantern got from the spider dude and when its first equipped by your main character.

Got lantern from some dumb spider guy I tricked going into darkness lmao. Then I had an option to free small annoying magic woman.
