How do I use the Hags Bane

In the "Save Vanra" quest, I am unable to throw the hags bane grenade. I have the item but it will not allow the action. It says "item can not be used at this time. I have watched several videos to no avail. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong?

How are we supposed to guess what are you doing wrong? Right clicking and throwing it usually works for me. Anyway you can get the kid out without the potion. Turn non lethal attacks on then knock out the hag and cut the kid out of her.

What do you mean by we? You mean how are you supposed to know. But thanks for your advise on a work around. Any one else have an idea that isn't a jackass?

'we' as in all the people here you are requesting help from. You come here asking for help, and give a snarky, pedantic reply to the first person that tries to help? Hope that works out for you!

Go to your inventory. Select the potion. Select "throw". Move the cursor to the hag, so she gets a red outline. Click.

This works for me.

Well FireGryph, if you can't see that he was the asshat then you must be cut from the same cloth. You see Mike here posted a reply that was polite and not some" snarky" response or even worse no help at all like, well you. I did ask for help from non jackasses I guess you have trouble reading as well as correct punctuation. How was that for Pedantic (take notice the correct punctuation I have)? Thank you Mike Garrison for your polite response. My problem is that I have a small "red dot" on the hags bane in the bottom right side and when I try to pick it up to throw it from my quick menu, it states that the action can not be made at this time. I have actions available but not that particular one. But thanks for your reply.

Burne, regarding your question, I've always used the Little Red Riding Hood method, so you don't need the Hags Bane
