Barbarian reckless attack
Multiple characters in multiplayer melee attacking at the same time
You already get bonuses to hit and advantage on prone enemy
An attempt to kill someone in their sleep could conceivably backfire, so it seems perfectly realistic to me. Some people are light sleepers, have really fast reflexes, or both.
Works every time.
Never used sleep spell though
"But Fireball has a six meter radius and the room you're in is only four square meters."
"Fireball."
"Hhhhh.. ok, so you cast fireball. All but one of the goblins are dead and all three of your companions are down. You're almost down, but somehow you made your save, so.."
"There's one goblin left? I cast fireball. Upcast to 5th level. TWINNED!"
Because of the animation the ranged sneak attack has a different arc than normally so you can hit a target normally from a spot but also be unable to sneak attack them. It's silly.
Make a huge slash with a twohander or hammer them down.
