no thermal issues (already checked) gpu doesn't get above 70C and cpu doesn't get above 60C, my boot drive is an SSD and the game is installed on a separate SSD
appreciate the help
power supply never gave me issues til after I installed and played BG for a couple hours
im pretty sure people's pc were breaking when Cyberpunk was released, dont have to be so hostile about it dude. I'm not saying my hardware can't CURRENTLY be the problem, it's just awfully convenient that all of this suddenly started happening right after playing the game. I have been suspecting memory problems since most if not all of the issues can be memory related. Don't want to buy parts willy nilly without having some sort of proof it isnt software related.
Yeah I've had some weird issues, and have an ASUS MOBO. Whenever I start it up after an update or the initial installation it blue screens my computer and then it's just fine until the next update
separate SSDs for the boot drive and BG3, whats a ram test?
Assuming you're running Widows, run "Windows Memory Diagnostic" from the start menu. There are better diagnostic tools, this Tom's Hardware article might help[www.tomshardware.com]. I know my MSI board has one built into the BIOS. I'm not sure if your ASUS board has one. Anyway, these apps stress test your ram and identify any address values that might not be working.
No DxDiag, no assistance.
Internet.
In my case, it was Comcast doing some sort of router update. Everything NOT related to internet access worked fine. Anything that touched the internet slowed to a crawl. Installs and updates simply failed.
One easy test is to run a stand-alone game that has no internet requirements. If that runs OK, but a similar one that does have internet requirements fails to run smoothly, then that's the answer.
Let's hope it is that simple. :)
