It's more made to stand in the way, deal some AoE around itself, attack single enemies here and there and be a big obsticle and target for enemies to attack.
It's like the Azer elemental. A summon to distract your enemy. Dealing damage is not really its strong point.
That's what it's good at. It's quite big and heavy, so you can close off chokepoints with it and continiously roll into enemy groups to keep them burning and annoyed. :D
In other words: It takes pressure off your team.
You can also combine this with Void-grenades to pull enemies in to the trap. Early on in the game they give out void grenades like candy at halloween.
Also, throw a grease bottle or spell that overlalps with the sphere to set everything around it on fire (the sphere itself is immune to fire damage).
Last but not least, enemies will sometime attack it rather than your parry. Always good to have an extra damage sponge.
Also a good point. The fire immunity i mean. :)
