Doors problem?
Hi i´ve been experiencing a bug with every single door in which i can´t target locations past the door. It didn´t bother me when exploring, but the thing get´s really annoying as i enter in combat.

NPCs can attack me from the other side of the door yet i can´t harass them because it´s like the door were close.

So at this point, my only strategy through doors is to go full in, berserker mode xD

I have been having some wierd door issues too. Clicking in the doorway will only close door rather than move characters to that location. Not sure if started happening from last hotfix or one before thet.

reverse like 180 degree more or less your camera visual this will help to target things

^ did this too.

Also it depends some arrows and throw-ables have a curved path and are harder to get past a door, while spells like "IGNIS!!!" go straight forward

When this happens to me - I separate the camera from the npc and move the camera thru the door to target the npc on the other side

yes i noticed this, projectiles, weapons, throwable and spells/abilities have different trajectories, some spells have no trajectory like sacred flame other need only to be visible, only nearby etc.
EDIT: even the sneak attack seems to change his trajectory, or shorten it cant really figure out this in particular

This is a bug. The only fix for me was to close the open door and then re-open the door. I sent a bug report to Larian Studios. You should also send a bug. Hopefully fixed in next release.

My bug report:

Open doors act as closed.
When Tav and party enter a room, open doorways act as if the door is closed. Player needs to close and then open door for door to act as open. This affects combat and clicking to move past door. Version 4.1.1.3748643

The sneak attack is full of randomness anyway, took me quite a while to get that you have to be crouched in order to do a sneak attack, you cannot attack from afar if you are standing, however if your head is basicly in the enemys Behind and you are crouched, then it works.

i sneak without "crouching" all you need is advantage and cant have disvantage on attack roll and that can vary, maybe it's only shorter in range

I have 2 rouges and they always have disadvantage. You could argue i completely messed up skilling my main (though i doubt it he is a machine on range and sneaks, but he cant do it while standing) And the other one is astarion. I believe astarion at least shouldnt have so much debuffs.

When i play scummy and attack from afar so the enemys are surprised, i can even stand in front of them and do a sneak attack right in their face when i get closer, it just doesnt make sense to me.

if im crouched and nobody sees me and i sneak upon anything it should be a sneak attack even without advantage ( if this is the way it is now then great i missed something ) same scenario but im on a ledge overlooking the targets do i get a auto sneak attack or advantage...nope and that makes no sense to me but they had to do this to stop sneaky ones from being over powered right?

true sometimes it doesnt even work while crouched, ive seen it in act 2 alot.

it doesnt make sense other than helping the targets but it screws the entire sneak build. they will never do it right
zombygunner Oct 9, 2023 @ 4:42am
yes its a broken thing but it kinda has to be. If im at level 12 in dnd playing the table version my perception is like a 30 so i can basically convince anyone anything at any time lol. thief is broken it always will be op and the stongest of any character
