Combat is the only disappointing thing!

I really loved the game, the story seems really interesting but the combat is just awful. Probably the worst combat I've ever seen. I tried a bunch of times but It's just awful and works completely random. I also really hated how you move the characters fortunately it feels normal with a gamepad.

I just wish they didn't add this cheap combat and made a real combat like elden ring/dark souls. But with a combat like this, this game doesn't deserve goty at all. Just a mediocre game.

"completely random" bro it's a dice basic gameplay for sure it's random it's the core gameplay. It's a time to time RPG like what did you expected ?

I'm the opposite. I love the roleplaying and epic voiceacting and cutscenes, but the combat is best of all. I wish there was more of it. It's really well done and addictive as hell.

Hm like in older BGs dice is THE thing, you only can increase chance to X thing to happen ..but it is all chance..to the point it is regular and BANG BNAG you hack them all..it was HELL to learn Baldur's gate 1..but was a easy when you got it..BG 1 was gathering dust over a year until I decided "hell Imma gonna learn this".

I'm sure BG 3 is easier to handle since latest rules..yet to be seen waiting sale

Combat is only good when I win as the agony of defeat is extremely depressing. I love it when the last dialog is fighting words and nothing more needs to be spoken.

Why did you by a CRPG if you hate CRPG combat? It sounds like this is 100% a you problem and not a game problem. That would be like buying Resident Evil and hating having to fight zombies, and then posting about it on the RE boards like people are going to be like "oh yeah, bro's totally right."

In D&D, combat is turn-based and based on dice rolls. The combat in BG3 reflects the rules of the system very well. Personally, I'm delighted. For gamers who like to press buttons quickly, there are hundreds of other games available.

i find combat goes much better if you turn off "Karmic Dice" it's in a way more random but at the same time you don't have the computer kick you in the nuts out of the blue simply because you had a good streak of roles.

This game is a CRPG. From the sound of it this genre is new to you. Comparing it to elden ring is like comparing a telltale game to a total war game, or a 4x game like master of orion 2 to a dating sim.
