If you don't want certain content: don't engage with it
Instead of asking them to remove "the gay stuff" from the game, how about you just don't flirt with the men in the game if you don't want that? Just say no when Wyll wants to dance or Gale wants to do magic tricks. Easy.

And if you don't want romance, here's a little piece of free advice: just tell your companions you're not interested. There, no romance.

So instead of asking for them to remove features from the game like a spoiled baby, just don't engage with the stuff you don't want. And stop making these stupid threads.

I didn't flirt with Astarion, he flirted with me. I didn't flirt with Gale, he flirted with me. I didn't flirt with Haslin, he flirted with me. Gale wanted a magical moment. Gale asked me into his dreams and to sit with him. Haslin for days had a dialog option about coming on too strong at the grove party. I gave no hint or choice of interest yet these things keep cropping up, being thrown in my face.

Or just kill them. The game gives you that option, its a happy compromise.

you are missing the point, but that is intentional.

So why exactly is it so hard to understand someone else who doesn't want to deal with uncomfortable situations in their game environment where they specifically wanted to get away from the outside world of politics, identity politics, and the hardships of reality to just play their own game that affects no one else at all? Just to be able to escape to a place where they can feel comfortable? You'd think that is something everyone can get on board with right?

because it is not human, no work, no matter how fantastic, manages to be completely alien to the culture of which produces it. You feel annoyed in the game for something that reflects the real world, the game doesn't "invent" it. probably if other games don't bother your sensitivity it's because they reflect your vision more but then it goes without saying that other people might be offended for opposite reasons.

therefore I would say that it is inhuman to expect a game to be offense-proof, I would say that it would be better for everyone if we learned to tolerate what we don't like and enjoy the rest.

This illustrates what we all know to be true. There is this 'victim' segment of that society that gets off on making people uncomfortable. They want everything to be about them. They want to be on display and watch others being made uncomfortable. As much as they say they want us to stop talking about it, to do so would crush them. If they actually believed this, you would not see them making these posts for them to protest and to call people to stop talking about it. If they actually believed this, they would have no part in these posts at all, but since they do keep participating, we can only conclude that it is by design.

Or maybe your point is just bad.

ikr. All these conservatives trying to make themselves the victims because the game allows people to actually have the option to be gay or bi or whatever. It's sad and cringe how these people can't see the irony.

To be fair, how many times have we seen a conservative congressman be blatantly homophobic only to caught sexting/having sex with other men? It happens every handful of years. It's a tale older than Matt Gates's ideal girl

But on top of that, it’s making it easier to avoid an unwanted romance with Gale, the charming Wizard companion with whom several players have been accidentally stumbling into a loving relationship.

I am only responsible for the words I say, not the BS you invent trying to read between the lines. I never said I was a victim. I presented my side, my opinions and my experience. That you lack the capacity to contend with it is a YOU problem.

Please go tell every woman you've ever known that the only thing she has to do is tell men "no".

See how that goes. You might need to find a woman first.

The problem is that a bunch of wilfully ignorant virtue signallers equate ppl saying, hey I barely spoke to this character and they come on to me in an immersion-breaking over the top way as something-phobic. The "relationship" part of this game is poorly written and reportedly written all by one person. But every time anyone brings it up they get gas-lit.

What ppl don't understand as well is that when you "defend" this under the banner of being "pro-LGBTQ+" all you do is reinforce the idea that hypersexualization and LGBTQ+ go together.

Do you feel better for painting everyone in black or white and twisting other ppl's arguments in a clearly disingenuous way? Is this "progress"?
