your monk doesnt do 400 at level 8 stop lying
Yea not at lvl 8, I think he was doing like 200 at that level on top of locking out enemies with stun strikes .

On topic, I tried the throw build with Karlach last run and it’s buggy and janky.

I had her have the legendary trident that returns to her hand when thrown, however it glitches during our Gortash fight and after like 3 throws it just disappeared. Wasnt on the grounds wasn’t in her inventory, she threw it and it was gone.

Ruined the entire fight as I had to reload.

well my karlach is level 8 and when i said i can do 150dmg per turn i just meant with haste and no critical hits if i use the debuff i have from my amulet wich make enemy take twice as much dmg thats already 300 dmg now if i were to crit lets say 2 times from 5 throws i could do 400 dmg and thats still me being at level 8 and not using legendary weapon wich il get in act 3 and who is much better

If you are talking about the branding amulet, that’s not a consistent thing as you only use it one time per long rest so you can use it for a big boss but it’s not something you use every fight .

It’s a powerful build but as I said it’s janky and your thrown weapon tends to casually just disappear which is the big issue with this build .

my weapon have never dissapeared and i dont think its janky at all i mean sure for some it can be annoying to click throw icon and then needing to select javelin but i dont mind it

Throw builds can be awesome. That's why my Eldritch Knight had 20 strength. I used the helm of intellect and dumped int into strength for that reason.

I usually do it as an Eldritch Knight and it's pretty awesome. The BIG problem is that spears and tridents have ridiculously large hitboxes so there are going to be a lot of situations in Act 3 where they simply can't be thrown - or it'll let you throw them then get caught in the environment and stop on the floor. The Orphic Hammer is a really good late game throwing weapon for an EK though and the hitbox is nice and small

OH AND BONUS - The damage from tavern brawler damages objects like chests and doors without needing to beat the damage resistance. On a 22 str tavern brawler you can do 6 points of damage a throw to chip down any door or chest you can.

Force Damage does that too. Eldritch Blast can knock down almost anything in the game, even sturdy things if you get a 20.

It's so broken I stopped doing it.

I'm pretty sure the bonus throwing damage items apply twice (at least with tavern brawler).

That and the falling damage bonus mean Karlach was absolutely destroying everyone in one round.

TB won't even need a roll, just a steady 6 every time, it's the ultimate lockpick

I've noticed that the only time I predictably lose my returning pike is if I hit near max range, outside of combat, to initiate combat. Then it stays with the NPC I was attacking on the ground.

There's a trident later on that's perfect for this, but you only get it in act 3. There's a few other good throwables earlier on, but most aren't auto-thrown. Throwing weapon + Tavern Brawler works best with Fighter Eldritch Knight though, for the auto-return. I gave that build to Lae'zel.

I just watched a YouTube dude beat the game by just throwing dead gnomes. We make our own fun.
