I know why but moving camp sucks ...here is why.
In the BEFORE TIMES....

When you went to camp it was a fixed location. I thought this is cool. I can customise it and stuff.

It changed and I asked why, I was told people said ... It took them out of the experience.

WTF?

if that is the case why doesnt fast travel take you out? If its ok to fast travel to locations it makes even more sense to have a camp in a fixed location, pocket universe, under a mountain.... endless .

I wish the voice of the many would not drown out the voice of the one who knows.

Fast travel is just like a fade to black scene in a movie so you don't have to go through the actual time to get somewhere. The camp changing depending on where you are makes perfect sense, especially in a D&D light, because you are finding a safe place to rest right where you currently are. There's a not a great indicator of real time vs compressed time in the game I'm assuming because gameplay has to take priority over realism, so in my mind when I fast travel say between the Emerald Grove and somewhere in the Underdark it's at least a full eight to 12 hours of just travel.

Please consult a doctor if the voices persist.

"we set up camp close to our location"
vs
"we fast travel to our base"

Either Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion or camp sites on the actual map would be preferable to the odd pocket-dimension camps that cannot be accessed without some form of fast travel.

Hey Dave, it's me, Bob. The voice you keep hearing.

You don't know nothing.

I agree and disagree.

I agree that it feels like the camps are meant to have stuff moved and dropped and kinda like decorate it.

but there are like 15 different camp locations and these changes and decorations dont persist. also the fact we have to fast travel to camp makes the camp being changed every other loading zone feel kinda weird. so i get it.

otherwise I think having a travelling campsite makes a little sense (the rest of your party members are the ones carrying all the luggage hence why we cant have them all at once, my headcanon atleast)

and seeing new and interesting campsites kinda feels immersive because it makes you feel like a traveller vs being in a deep crypt and then teleporting instantly to a bright day camp in the mountains or something would be weird.

pros and cons.

I like the current system a lot but I can see the issues you present.

Hawke, would you mind checking your messages?
I would rather adventure with a warrior instead of a decorator. Do you loot the soft furnishings?

i dont get your point, because you just have more camp locations to customize, more than just one is usually better for whom wanted to make trophies galleries, alchemy workbench, storage wharehouse and amenyties like that :D

I found it strange at the beginning, especially when in dangerous areas and suddenly everyone is there. But when my character and Astarion did the dirty overground although we were in the Underdark, I realised I like it. :steamhappy:

Exactly my point. Time compressed my trip to camp. I think you agree with me, except you want location to change.

I remember at the time changeing it caused huge problems for devs and added time. In the underdark Asterion appeared under a waterfall and died when u went to camp.

I have one house in real life. Lol. I see your point, I just prefer the original.

Oh Bob, back again I see.

You are so so smart. You are correct. I don't know nothing.
