Is Wrath of the Storm working properly?

I have 1 level sorc, 1 level Tempest Cleric and 4 levels wizard. I picked Sorc first, then Cleric and then all wizard.

I have both thunder and lightning to trigger automatically, but it doesn't seem to trigger as it should. In BG3 it should be triggering any time attacked in melee range? When it does trigger it shows in the combat log that it's triggered but with no damage

I have Armor of Agathys also, but I understood that both of these work together and AoA shouldn't stop wrath of the storm working?

I've looked at different posts and a lot of people seem to have this issue, but I can't find a reliable workaround. Can anyone help me sort this please? I have a staff in hand but this should still work with wrath or the storm?

It should trigger any time you are hit with a melee attack. Weapon choice should not affect the feat in any way. Have you tried using it without Armor of Agathys active? Maybe the damage procs are interacting in a weird way making one of them not go through. I got a full tempest cleric and I haven't had any issues with it.

It would suck if it glitches with AoA as that would be the whole crux of my build. Building an abjuration wizard that has retaliation through AoA, wrath of the storm and fire shield and they should all work together

You need 2 points in cleric.

You need 2 points in cleric.

You need 2 points for destructive wrath which allows you to deal full damage with lightning or thunder using channel divinity but you get wrath of the storm with 1 level tempest cleric

I think what could be happening is I'm not hitting and it's not showing the animation. I'm a wizard and I don't have high strength or dexterity and so where it's showing wrath of the storm procced in the fight log but not showing damage, it could be that I didn't connect maybe :S
