New player finally about to start BG3 that has a big question
Hey everyone! I wanted to wait a bit before jumping into BG3 for some patch updates and bug fixes but I'm excited to finally start playing this tonight or tomorrow as it's currently installing. My big question is... Is there anything special I need to know before starting a new game?

I grew up and LOVED the original BG1/BG2 and can't wait to play this one. Thanks ahead of time and just wanted to make sure to ask this amazing community first in case I need to avoid something as I begin :-)

Well don't expect the same gameplay that's for sure. Look at the divinity games to understand what type you're going to play.

Thanks! I also played those and very much enjoyed them :-)

Oh and just in case, the companions are playersexual they will all try to have a go at your succulent body. It's up to you to reject them early on to avoid any shenanigans afterwards.

that you "need" to know? not really, i guess that resting (recovering spell slots and the like) is the little campfire on the bottom of your UI, i dont remember it specifically saying that.

the game is pretty easy to go into blind, as far as im aware.

Thanks and ah, I see. Are campfires unlimited or not really? I remember that when playing Pillars of Eternity.

technically no, but with the amount of supplies you will find just by playing, yes, you dont need to worry about it really.

its 40(80 on tact) per long rest, and you'll have thousands by the end of act 1.

F5 is the default "Quick Save" hotkey. I wouldn't say I'm a save scummer, but... Yeah, never mind, I totally am.

That's perfect! Thanks so much for the info, so is that the only way to save? Is there an autosave each Act or nah?

Don't rely on the auto saves unless you want to know when a possible fight is close.

that is a way to recover resources(hp, spells, yada yada), you can save anytime just by hitting f5 (or hitting escape and doing a manual save)

You can also long rests as long as you want, there's no timer for MOST of the game.

But some quests have, it's up to you to decide the urgency of things.

And the game has a pop up when you're switching a region where you can lose quests by progressing further.
