Are there any characters that are explicitly straight?
I don't mean that they're in a normal relationship and therefore not gay, I mean specifically is there a single character in this game that says "no thanks on the gay sex, I'm straight"?

Is there even a single one?

I keep asking... why does anybody even CARE? get over yourselves.
All of the characters are normal straight, if you choose the correct dialogue options.

Protect normal kids!

You do know that sometimes people have a long line of heterosexual relationships and are by definition a heterosexual, and then they have a homosexual relationship and for the rest of their life are happy with that one person right?
Each individual in such scenarios define what that means themselves.
Some say "I was gay the whole time and tricked myself into thinking I was straight."
Some say "I really do love my exes and enjoyed having sex with them as much as I do with my partner, if my relationship ended I probably would go back to heterosexual relationships."
Some say "I dunno I think I just am attracted to people and I happened to date the opposite mainly to begin with."
There's no rule for what any of these people are.

According to my gay friend and neighbor standing here right now reading this, this is bs. These would not be defined as gay. According to him.. and funny enough his name is Chad lol... gay men at least are well aware of their attraction to the same sex at an early age. His husband agrees btw. What you are describing here is bisexual proclivity (meaning they have a choice to choose between one or the other or both should the situation present itself). He goes on to argue that this sort of mentality completely undermines what the gay community has been trying to fight against forever which is the idea that gay is a choice... it is not anymore than I chose to be heterosexual.

Chad?! My condolences... Joking joking. Lmao.

And yeah i agree with you. People figuring out later what they like, they're still bisexual. Especially if they had fun with the same or opposite sex and ended up with one or the other. It's called preference in this case. And lots of bisexuals do have gender preferences.

If you are gay or straight or bi... you just know it. Imo.

There seems to be a theme here, which goes back to the original point, there are no straight characters that shoot you down.
As I said, there are straight characters just not romanceable. Which answers the title question.

Straight people are meant to be murdered on sight in this game.
What a strange reading. Okay? That was not how I understood the text but you're entitled to your interpretation. Strange Ulder fell off your list.

Sounds like your gay friend only validates "gold star" gays...
Which is toxic in the LGBT community.
I didn't use the word choice at all?
I outlined scenarios where people are attracted to who they are attracted to. In the case of the non-"gold star" gay they very well can be people who get depressed being in a heterosexual relationship, believing they are heterosexual due to social pressure and then only through coming out as gay be happy. This person definitely didn't chose to be miserable in a heterosexual relationship.

Why do people have coming out stories at a huge diversity of ages then? And why do so many have them say they didn't know they could love who they love now?

to the bozo who said liking trans people makes someone pansexual, what? liking trans people doesnt mean a bi person is pan, theyre not an exception to a sexuality. this debate ended in like 2018
Are you referring to me?
I meant being attracted to non-binary people.

because gay repression is still a thing. MANY societies, if not most, tend to aggressively respond negatively to homosexuality. sadly, this is often encouraged by their "leaders" who keep themselves in power via manipulating people's emotions, rather than honestly let people decide on evidence and reason. So, sometimes gay people feel they must hide their real sexuality while having a superficial hetero relationship. this was extremely common in the last century, even in relatively progressive countries like the US.

Yes, Thorm, and you murder his entire family and then afterwards a lesbian loudly squishes his head and then screams about having gay sex with her girlfriend.

Lmao didn't notice till you mentioned it but yeah this is true.

Anyway, quite a few couples who DO mention their significant other are gay. I've ran into a bunch of npc's who mention their spouse of the same sex. Its kinda jarring but whatever.

That's right! So if sexuality can never possibly be fluid (very hard to prove) then it is possible for a gay person to be in denial/gaslight themselves into not recognising that they are gay for a long time so they don't just know it.

Nope, and it's pretty nice. Be the bulky paladin lad that whisks Shadowheart off her feet, be the sorcerer durge who has a bloody romance with Astarion, or be the rogue who has no time for romance and just wants to collect wine barrels in peace.

Because people bought what they thought was a videogame and not a gay romance simulator?

its a video game?

and if you enter a game romance that is a choice you made, you have like 10 options, half of them would be het at any one time.
