Game forcing battles on player [Act 3 Spoilers]
so i would like to wait with the lorrakan-fight but thanks to being visited by the mercenaries at night, now Aylin flies there, forcing me to follow, even though i am entirely underleveled. this sucks big time. I am soft-locked into Lorrakan and hate it

Well, it was your choice to proceed through the game without an adequate Quicksave/ManualSave plan.

The game also usually warns you that something significant is coming up by doing an Autosave right before the trigger. I always do a Quicksave and a ManualSave whenever that shows up.

In any case, since there are so many instances where the results of actions are not known and no chance of choice is available, I consider Save/Restore necessary as there is no live GM to mitigate such events.

load a non most recent save and level up? this isnt unique to BG3. if ur under level, ur under level.

Nothing really forces you into the fight if you quicksave before speaking to Aradin, etc.. You're seldom forced into fights without some kind of dialogue. What I hate is ACT IIIs habit of starting fights from dialogue, not allowing you to position, clumping your party up, then have you get nuked by enemy spell casters because tactician buffs everyone's initiative by +2. You're pretty much told that if your aren't running at least 18 dex on all your characters, you won't have any chance to position, and even then the chance to beat out the AI in initiative at that point is 50/50.

Shar fight? Nuked by Darkness by 6 spell casters.
Lorroakan? Nuked by fireballs and myrmidon AoEs.

I could go on, and that's not to say they're impossible or hard, it's just annoying and seldom happens elsewhere in the game.

I have had some success in similar situations by putting the party in Turn Based mode, positioning around the fight area (preferably on High Ground), and then approaching with a character that has the best chance of winning the Initiative (including wearing any Initiative gear I might have). Then, if that character survives, they retreat as best they can to the rest of the party.

Does not always work perfectly, but at least gives me a fighting chance. :)

Why did you tell the mercs the truth about Nightsong and that she was at your camp?

Lorroakan fight doesn't let you do this, forcing you into position. That's pretty much how I won the Shar fight, yeah.

I dont have anything against the mercs visiting me at night, but I really hate you cant tell Aylin to wait until you are ready. I get she is pissed, but she has ridiculously low hp and will die if you do not get there like immediately.

I managed to kill lorakan in my 6th attempt, but the fight itself is mega-bugged. I pushed him from the platform, which caused him to fall onto an invisible wall in a gap on the lower floor (not taking dmg of course). then he continued to snipe me through the floor. Thank god i could lock the elementals by banishing them and got a lucky crit on him with shadowheart. but he should have died from 2 story fall.
