Annoying cantrip bug when changing classes

Is this a general bug or only when changing classes with Shadowheart?

Shadowheart -> Withers -> cleric

You start with 3 cantrips, but the text reads you can select them from the list below...I pick light, guiding bolt and a third one.

Leveled her up...then I am asked to select another cantrip...and light appears again...

I went through the process of creating level 7 Shadowheart three times, wondering why light is not available. I selected it first (level 1), then was asked again at ... level 4 or 5 or something....did not select it again (as I had selected it at level 1)...and ended up with NO light cantrip.

Loaded the game, did the whole process again...even took some screenshots to see if my mind played tricks on me...

But it is a bug...no matter what cantrips you select at level 1, you won't have them at level 4/5...basically, a cantrip I don't want is forced upon me...I cannot select light, produce flame and guiding bolt.

Is this just a bug with Shadowheart or cantrips in general?

I select light as the first cantrip...doesn't actually matter...you can pick it as the second or third one too...

And if I only select it at level 1 it is not there. Does not matter if you end leveling up after level 1, view your character...or level up all levels, then view it.

Not a bug. What you are going off about is her racial high halfelf cantrip. You can only change it at character creation if you are playing Shadowheart as Origin. Respec cannot change the high elf racial cantrip, which defaults to firebolt.

The high elf cantrip may end having two versions in your book. They are naturally int based for high elves. Lets say you pick Blade Ward. Then as a cleric you can pick Blade Ward again, but this one is wis tagged.

The high elf cantrip is also based of the wizard list of spells, unlike Shadowheart's normal selection that is based on the cleric list of spells.

Wtf are you even going on about? He doesn't care about the racial cantrip that shadowheart gets, that can never be changed. He cares about getting the light cantrip and how it shows up again at level 4.

This is most definitely a bug if it's showing back up a second time especially when he's not multiclassing.

I play with a controller. Maybe the bug is only triggered when using one.
