spell slots questions.
i think i may have been mislead so i will ask here. does having high wisdom gives extra spell slots to wizards? if no is there something that does? also, not a spell slot question but still. i read somewhere that in the house of grief i can get a +2 to any stat in exchange for a -2 to an other but that you could remove the -2 with the remove curse spell of a cleric. is it true?

I didn't play Wizard, but I'm pretty sure spell slots are just tied to your spell level. Increasing your wisdom will increase your chance to hit with spells.

I'm not sure if you can remove the penalty with remove curse, you probably can, but I do know that you can also bypass it by succeeding at skill checks.

Depends on what you mean by spell slots. If you mean the number of spells you can cast per day, then no. If you mean the number of spells you can have memorized, then you get to add your int modifier to the number of spells you can have memorized.

Last I checked, you can remove the penalty from the mirror buff with remove curse.

Just curious if there's some things that can increase the number of learned spell that a wizard can have. So I would like to ask if anyone knows what's the maximum number of learned spell, and by learned I mean that have studied so you can cast at any time as long as you have the spell slots for it, if they are level 12 with 20 intelligence?

No, only intelligence gives you learned spells.

And spell slots are fixed no matter what based on caster level.

But there are ways around it like free cast illithid power allowing you to cast a spell without using a spell slot or some of the staffs too let’s you cast a spell once a day without using spell slot .

But number of learned spells that’s INT dependent for wizzard

You're thinking of *prepared* spells.

Wizard can learn any spell from a scroll, and they can freely change their prepared spells as long as they're out of combat.

In the House of Grief you have a chance to get +2 to a stat, although you have to pass (or save scum) your way through at least one check to do it. And yes, you can get rid of the -2 with a remove curse spell.

Wizards spellslots is:
Wizard class level+ Int modifier.

To explain:
At level 1 you get 1 spellslot for being a wizard.
12 int give you a +1 int modifier.
Making your total spellslots 2.
With 14 int you got a +2 making it a spellslot of 3.
16 = 4.
Etc.

To a wizard int is the most important stat.
Dex the second most important and con the third most important.

Int because it makes your spells stronger and give you more spellslots.
Dex to get better dodge ac(aka the ability to avoid getting hit)
Dex also effects your range attack spells.
Con is to not die to a cought and to make concetration save(and 5e love its concentration spells)

Playing a wizard is like playing a scientist.
You arent good at fighting.
But you know 27 different ways to compleetly criple the human body.

You are confusing prepared spells with spell slots.

Spell slots depend on your caster level and have nothing to do with your spellcasting modifier.

Spell slots are the blue little squares you use up when you cast spells.

No, spell slots are per level.. no amount of buffing casting stats will give you more.

You can get extra spells slots with Elixir of Arcane Cultivation potions up to level 4...

Casting modifier only gives you bigger list of spells you can prepare that use those spell slots as fuel - charges

that and it increase accuracy and power off your spells be it healing, damage or easier control...

now IF you want more fuel-charges(resource) for your spells you can get items that help with that and some tadpole powers help with that as well, meaning they give you spell slots back or they let you cast a spell without it.

As a last thing that helps with fuel-charges are items that give you extra spells those spells don't use spell slots but are instead once per long/sort rest. You even have Magic Initiate - Feats that do the same and to top it off you can use scrolls but all those spells can't be upcasted meaning they are always the same level in power.

D&D 3.5 edition gives more spell slots if you have more bonus stats. D&D 5e does not and BG3 uses 5e rules.
