Sir Gorran Penghyst
Who the hell is this? Their corpse randomly appeared on the first floor balcony of Jannath's Estate in Act 3. No one notices or seems to care. Googling the name gives me literally no information beyond their voice actor. Is this a bug? What the hell is this?

There's a scripted event where he and another Lord get into a fight outside over the sale of a counterfeit painting, ending in his death. The player can have virtually no interaction outside of watching it happen and the winner saying one line to you. Just a flavor event that you found the remnants of.

Oh, a bit like Carbos and Shak in in BG2? Nice, Haven't seen it yet but I'll try to find that estate.

I have a pet peeve for gameplay features that are indistinguishable from bugs.

Speaking of which I only learned now, way too late, that this whole manor is tied to a quest that revolved around my finding and rescuing someone in Act 1. So now it's just kind of there, trapped in purgatory, since that quest never triggered and never will

It's no loss. I suspect most people who have played that whole quest once actually prefer not to do it again. It's long and has a bugged reward. It's supposed to end up with you getting a painting of your Tav, but what you get is a painting that randomly shows one of your origin companions. One that you can't even hang on a wall or anything.

"Fixed a bug preventing you from interrupting Sir Gorran Penghyst and Lord Delawer Jeth in Jannath's Estate."

It is one of the most annoying quests in the game and whoever designed it should be fired, rehired, and then fired again for those stupid skulls.
