Is there any way to chase her out of the kennels without losing the ability to summon Scratch. I've already lost his ball, so I have no way to get him back. Do I just have to avoid this conversation if I want to keep Scratch?

Yea, there are skill checks and she runs off.

I've tried different combinations of skill checks, and they all resulted in losing the ability to summon Scratch.

At the time, I didn't realize it was meaningfully different that the thousands of other balls you find around camp.
