Auto Selecting Camp Supplies Is Frustrating
Auto Selecting camp supplies when you have sent all your supplies to camp makes autoselect a pain unless you want to use up more supplies then you need.

I always find myself having to deselect supplies just to get to the right amount and giving up because it isn’t possible.

Why can’t the game just autoselect 40/40?

There are so many supplies in the game that the mechanic is absolutely pointless and a waste of player time and serves no other purpose than to waste player time.

You'll end up with 20,000+ supplies, this is really not anything to worry about at all.

Yes thats a good point then the system overall needs a rework

The last time I tested this it didn't consume all of the selected supplies. Even though it says 123/40 it will only says that because it doesn't know how stacks work when selecting so it is just grabbing the nearest to 40 it can get based on the individual item values. Try selecting all your supplies and see whats left over after the long rest.

Larian cannot properly design UI or UX.

Yeah the game has complicated UI let's hope they improve on it ^^

It's just a gimmick for table top fans to feel like it's being done properly. You can rest using only booze, find ready meals lying around and auto send stuff to camp in red zones. None of it makes sense. I think you can eat only rotten stuff too, unsure. As for the using too many supplies, I think it counts how much one item is "worth", but if you have more than one of said item it just uses all of them. Hence you can end up with 60 +

The inventory and the settings menu are also very badly laid out.

I assume that they have delegated this task to interns or something. I can't imagine how else it could be so bad.

Agree. I think my record was 126/40 or something :D Ridiculous. By now I practically know the camp supply value of every piece of cr*p I pick up, I'm so used to manual selection.

DOS I and II had similar issues. It is just how they do things.

It's not complicated, it is just clunky and awkward for seemingly no reason.

It may go over 40 by a couple if it nabbed stuff that doesn't add up properly, but other than that it won't use everything in a selected stack. Try this, manually select 40 camp supplies and then pick an extra one with a big stack to go from 40-->something crazy. Rest. It should have only used up the 40 it needed and left the stack alone. If it did use the stack, the other supplies you selected shouldn't have gone anywhere. The same should be true when you auto-select and get a crazy number.

It SAYS 132/40, but it maybe only uses 42 of that.

If it goes over, it doesn't use all the supplies it selected. Ya'll know that right?

If you rest with 90 potatoes, it won't use all 90 potatoes if they're selected. If you rest with 20 camp supplies, it won't use all 20 selected camp supplies.
Beytran70 Oct 23, 2023 @ 8:50am
Just to reiterate what others have said, it doesn't actually use all the supplies it selects. It's just an issue where the UI can't automatically split up stacks of food, even if it can identify one piece from a stack. So even if you're only using 1 carrot of like 11 for your supply calculation, it shows the supply value of all 11 carrots. It might be fixable, might not. Just a weird quirk.

I sell every camp supply that is worth more than 3 gold.
Problem sovlved:)
