Should I commit murder?
In act 3 I have right now a quest that essentially appears on my map saying murder these two people this is probably a really stupid question to ask but if I'm playing heroic good playthrough should I do the quest or save these people because unless I incorrectly read what the mission was which I probably did I have to kill these people cut their hands to infiltrate some group of murderers that I believe the doppelgangers are a part of. Am I wrong because if I am right the doppelgangers should already know that I'm not on their side so infiltrating them would be stupid and I don't really want to do it so I'd rather save these people.

You can do whatever you want it’s your game

Yeah but if this decision literally Alters my entire play through and make something really cool not happen like when I first did my first decision in the game and ended up killing the intellect Devourer that I could have had later on in the game as a pet I'd rather know beforehand so I don't have to load a save.

I've killed so many people in my playthrough

I've even attacked my own party members by accident

This entire line is for Orin's quest. You'll need to address the murder tribunal to get access to Bhaal's temple. The tribunal will judge you based on the hands. There are many hands you could get. I got Gortash's hand and that was enough in one of my playthroughs. And you only need to care about their judgement if you want to be an Assassin of Bhaal. As far as I can tell, outside of the achievement and Dark Urge, this is mostly just for access to the vendor and avoid a fight. Saeravok has a necklace to open the Temple of Bhaal. He'll either give it to you or you can take it from his dead hands. Oh and I think they can be your allies in the final battle if you join them. Revist them after killing Orin to get them as allies.

The part you're on is to either catch the person trying to get hands for their judgement or doing it yourself. Either way will give you access to the tribunal.

Doesn’t matter you can always do things differently your next playthrough. Just go with whatever you want to do

Went to long rest, but scratch came up to me with a bone… so of course I go to throw it and he ran right into the path of it….

So of course the entire camp rolls initiative to kill me. I accept my fate, I would do the same to anyone who hurt scratch.

Stop posting misinformation and hide your spoilers. He will ally with you and has 0 ♥♥♥♥♥ to give for Orin. His priority is murder.

Would your character do it? If so, then do it. If not, don't.

Hej,
So there are more solutions of this as usual :)
No, you really dont have to kill them, but you can if you play more evil character :D
This is part of your Find a murder quest and you can just warn them - save them by saying, that somebody will want to kill them - they are the ppl writen on Bhaal murder list which you had to find. So if you follow it like that, you should stumble upon solution. I did it twice like this without killing anyone on the list.

What happens if you do as I said - either read it or leave it for your surprise:
If I remember correctly. When I warned everyone, I also met the killer and manage to save his victims. In the end I went back to Figaro (I played it twice and it always ended up there), and there was the killer with the investigator. You will get into fight, and after defiting him you will have talk with investigator. Or pick up the stuff from the dead killer body, if the investigator was killed in the fight :) That should update your jurnal

I hope this helps without spoiling too much for you!
