Is it just me or do you lose all interest in Act 3?
I have been playing for almost 200 hrs and I am finding that every time I reach Act 3. I just lose interest, I dont want to continue playing. I love A1 and A2 but A3...I just stop caring. Dont care about the 3, Cazador, Raphael(Great Battle Music), and so on. The only interesting bit in A3 is some of the goofy side quests. Like a Genie that cheats or treasure hunting for a clowns body parts.

I am curious if this is a me issue or if others lose interest when they reach Act 3.

I love act 3, I have a save game at start of act 3 and often replay it.
I hate act 2

I have such mixed feelings. In a lot of ways, act 3 feels almost disconnected from everything that happened before. And in some ways that's good- it feels fresh and novel, and it gives me a second wind to keep pushing on a playthrough. But it also causes a disconnect between everything I did and everything I am doing, which leads to gradually losing interest the longer the act goes on.

I have no idea why this is, to be honest.

I'm feeling this exact thing right now. On my first playthrough, first time doing Act 3, and these missions are just really bland. One problem is a lot of them require stealth and the game's stealth gameplay is just really tedious and requires a lot of reloading to pull off correctly. There also appears to be an overall lack of dialogue-based resolutions to issues. And a lot of what I'm facing right now are the consequences of earlier things I did in previous Acts, which I get is neat in the sense that the choices have consequences, but it feels like a lot of things are now beyond my control. A few of the quests also just feel frankly unfinished, like the Fireworks one that ended with me just killing a room full of people, then killing all the city guards who came after me.

Then again I'm prioritizing the "Baldur's Gate" side quests right now instead of going for the companion missions, which I assume are more interesting, and the two final (?) missions where I fight the two big baddies of the chapter. So maybe that's where it starts to get good again. But I'm borderline losing interest in the game right now.

I didn't, I want to explore every single room from every single house of Baldur's Gate. I'm just upset, the bugs are still so many that I can't play in peace, so I'll still wait for more updates. I don't know why the game was so praised in August, if I knew act 3 would be this bad for this long I would wait a year to buy it on a sale.

act 3 in divinity 2 was also weak

I did lose interest twice in Act 3 but pushed through it and it was worth it. For me, I think it was that it all got almost too big, like there were too many quests to keep track of and do and discover. There is just SO MUCH in Act 3. I just started laser focusing on one quest at a time and it helped. Don't know if that will help you at all, but just my experience! I also used guides to help if I was lost at all (I'm a story driven player, so I'm all for getting help if it means I get to finish the story). But yeah, I hope you can finish it if you want to, and if you don't, I hope you enjoy playing act 1 and 2 again and again! Act 1 is SO much fun nfgknkldr

I just think everything in Act 1 and Act 2 had a point and purpose. Also was designed in a way that kept you focused and engaged. Act 3 is almost like a sandbox mode, do whatever you want! While this can be fun, it also gives me no reason to care about anything. None of my actions seem important nor do they change anything. I saved you and no one cares but you get some gold or an item you will never use. Plus, I am in no rush to do any ending. They are all horrible, especially the hero ending and Karlach. I saved Baldurs Gate and now I get to watch my love/friend blow up. How nice...

You get all the cool loot, all the big showdowns, all the big fights , you reach your full potential as lvl 12, what’s not to love ?

And you can chose where to go so you can plan according to what your class/ build needs.

Like if you are a wizzard you can rush to get the spellmight gloves and then to Sorcerers sundres for the robe and staff.

Or if you are a monk you can rush to Raphael first and get the gloves , health amulet and legendary armor etc.

My only complaint is that by the time I collect all the fun gear I have beaten most bosses and don’t have enough enemies to use them on besides the final battle which isn’t that long sadly .

Would have been a lot more fun if the last battle went through the entire city , had multiple mini bosses , a few side missions like rescue civilians , help evacuate some NPCs etc.

Like an act 4 but all combat oriented.

That’s really my only issue with act 3

The problem with Act 3 is that it’s a fundamental change from how the rest of the game works.

A1 and 2 are a roadtrip journey, where you arrive at a location, do something and move on, it’s a linear path.

Then you’re in Act 3 and suddenly the game becomes a semi-open world city sandbox game, with the classic ‘errand boy’ quests, too much people to talk to and keep track of, overwhelming amount of quests.

It feels like you’re playing Final Fantasy X but then in the last third you’re suddenly playing FF Online.

It wouldn’t feel as strange if there was some sort of larger settlement to explore between Act 1 and 2.

I'm having trouble maintaining interest in Act 1.

If that's true, I might actually like Act 3 the most, in spite of being unfinished.

Once I hit level 12 I had no reason to gather EXP and that was a huge demotivator for me. There was no reason to grind out all the random side quests anymore and also it felt like a huge level scaling issue that was just badly designed.

A game should not have a bunch of extra random EXP in it, you should pretty much hit max level near max completion or do it like Final Fantasy where you can just continue to grind for EXP if you want to be extra OP in the final boss fight.

Personally I enjoyed ACT 3 much more than ACT 2. I like every act, dont get me wrong. I just felt like there was a lot more in Act 3 and I enjoyed trying to figure out what to go for first before hitting up other things. I loved walking through the city hearing peoples dialog. I loved having my own inn room. Pretty enjoyable if you aren't trying to rush through the game.

People dont know what they are talking about, Act 3 is very good. It may seem quite overwhelming at first, but eventually you know where everything is.
