if 2 of them have colour in their pictures they are alive.
If they are grey with a skull they are dead.
If both have colour then you can do a sneak attack ...
but if only one has colour you can't .... because the encounter resets.
Do you understand ?

Well lets call the one on top Player 1
and the one below Player 2
Player one moves into the shadows and uses stealth ....
One of the mobs now takes a turn moves and attacks Player 2.
Im sorry, the mobs are the bad guys, in case you were confused.
So then the mobs "Bad Guys" get a turn and they kill Player 2
Don't be scared... it part of the game.
So now Player 1 is hiding and Player 2 is Dead .
And you know what happens ?
take a second and guess ?
....
If you guessed that the encounter resets.
Give yourself a gold star big guy!
You can have 2 stars if you figured out there was no option for Player 1, unless of course you mean Rogues should never use stealth .

I think this should not happen while you're still in range. This kind of locks out a mono-party playthrough (all rouges).
I get your frustration. I'd say the mobs should still heal, but only if you're out of range or have not attacked for X turns.
Gotcha.
What part about "don't die" is hard to understand? There's heals in the game, crowd control in the game. And if you're trying to stealth with only one character left alive and low enough health that the mean, nasty monsters will kill you in one round then you are using the worst tactics ever devised.

Who did? Afaik a round has always been 6 seconds.
If you want to charge me food or potions to get my health back
and no matter how long im out off combat I dont get my spells and health back .
Then neither should anything else !!
FIXED resource game ... mobs violate the world by insta healing and getting all resources restored ... its no longer a world with rules.
If you want to restore all health to mobs ... WHEN I SHORT REST OR REST.
But if i fought with it and killed it down to 10% and the encounter resets cause i was in stealth when the rest of my party wiped .. its broken.
