Still, I’m in agreement with you, OP - it’s a fantastic game despite the pandering to the hopeless romantics.
If you never played the game and a male npc offered to show you some magic or dance , then you would probably be curious and think that’s all there is to it, or that this is some kind of a storyline event and would say “yes”.
And then you will be in an awkward spot where you can talk to Gale until the rest of the game “about the night we spend together “
Honestly these events should never trigger at all unless the main character purposely flirts with them to avoid confusion. Most of these offers comes out of the blue and aren’t obvious for the casual player.
Yes until a VERY OBVIOUS POINT COMES UP and you have TWO VERY CLEAR RESPONSES that let you say no. And that's the end of it.

But even then not everyone would be that randy and even if they were not everyone would be so blatant about it.
For Laezel (alien culture) and Asterion (massive slut) it makes sense, but for the rest of them it IS totally cringe.
It’s goofy and unrealistic and puts you in a spot where you realize the npc only invited you because they are gay and want to hook up with you. Not beycase they care about you and want to actually help you learn magic or dance, no they just invite you as a trick to try hook up with you. That’s the problem
You do realize they all will hit on you no matter what gender as well, right? And so your primary issue is that the NPCs make a move on you first? That's it?
For real, that's why I'm so confused. Out of the many hours of dialogue most characters have, a small fraction is romance related at all.
Welcome to hook-up culture. Pretty realistic.
Roll for sexitiative!
