I am running a mod called 5e spells, but still... What does it do?
http://dnd5e.wikidot.com/spell:ceremony
Of spells added by that mod, it seemed one of the least interesting; never used it (but that said almost every Cleric spell it adds is close to useless).
As for all other commentary, it's your game, do what you like, but Ceremony is not in the vanilla game. I've run into issues in the past, I have some minor ones right now that I'm mostly blaming "mod fixer" for, but all in all, adding spells to this game as that mod does is a very enjoyable addition. Most of those spells, anyway. Ceremony is pointless. Now things like Synaptic Static and Steel Wind Strike ... mmm, tasty.
Now, if only I could get the 5E Addon Spells and PF2E spells to play well together; but that is my problem, because I can't use Compatibility Framework, sigh. I can say adding the Secret Scrolls 5E Mod is very useful, as there are now learnable scrolls for all of the added spells. The way they are added to spell lists is ... inconsistent.
- Bless Water: Create a unit of holy water
- Coming of Age: +1d4 to ability checks until next Long Rest
- Dedication: +1d4 to saving throws until next Long Rest.
That's how the spell functions in 5e (though coming of age and dedication are once per lifetime benefits). No guarantees that's how it's programmed to work by the mod creator though.
