Add a legendary long sword...

Seriously, how is it that there isn't a single Legendary long sword meanwhile we have 2 legendary great swords, 2 legendary maces, 2 legendary short swords, a dagger, a rapier, a staff, even a trident, the lattermost possibly being the best one handed weapon in the game, and no long sword? It's not like long swords are possibly the most iconic one handed weapon in fantasy or anything, especially for Paladins. Seriously, someone make it make sense or fix it Larian.

I'm sorry... but what's the point of a legendary weapon, when the utility you get from a “less legendary” weapon is enough?
Between Larenthian Wrath and Phalar Aluve (or even the adamantite longsword), I don’t think we’re starved for choices.

What would it add, really? Just flavor. You already have excellent weapons for two-handed or one-handed use.

Rapier is for dex players. Trident is for strength players and is versatile. Short swords are for dual-wielders. Two-handed swords for dedicated 2-hand players (although I switch Lae'zel to the trident and use that 2-handed when I get it).

I guess maybe the only issue is elves. They get racial proficiency in longswords but not greatswords. If you have an elf without proficiency in martial weapons, you might want them to use that longsword.

But it's not like there are not great longswords in the game, even if they are not called "legendary".

Then you are playing wrong, should be using your fists for a monk, especially once you get the legendary gloves with force damage.

just change the one you like to a longsword, change 'using' to 'WPN_Longsword_2' and done.

There's one fairly decent longsword in BG3 Voss' Silver Sword (longsword version)[bg3.wiki]. I guess it's kind of hidden, but it's close enough to legendary.
