There’s no legendary Longsword. That’s the world they created
Between Larenthian Wrath and Phalar Aluve (or even the adamantite longsword), I don’t think we’re starved for choices.
Rapier is for dex players. Trident is for strength players and is versatile. Short swords are for dual-wielders. Two-handed swords for dedicated 2-hand players (although I switch Lae'zel to the trident and use that 2-handed when I get it).
I guess maybe the only issue is elves. They get racial proficiency in longswords but not greatswords. If you have an elf without proficiency in martial weapons, you might want them to use that longsword.
But it's not like there are not great longswords in the game, even if they are not called "legendary".
In The underdark. How much legendary does the sword need to be.
It's a versatile and finesse longsword.
