Personally I save the House of Hope as one of the last things I do before I start pushing towards the finale. The very first time I did it, I was 10th level with mid gear, and yeah, it was very tough. Being 12th level with decent gear makes a lot of difference.
- team: fighter, barb (both with great weapon master active, buffed with bless (improved by underdark tower staff to 20-40% hit) and fighter with advantage ring from moonrise towers), sorc (dual haste on fighters), cleric
- cleric with unique gloves (everyone healed gets resistance = 50% dmg reduce buff from temple vendor in lower city)
- everyone has at least 20-25 AC and if possible wears the Grimforge boss helmet und 2 armors which all 3 three gives crit immunity to be on the safe site)
- position your heros in a circle around the portal and buff Hope improved invisibility, your fighters dual haste, all bless, group heal for 50% dmg reduce buff
- don't use sacred dmg because it will get reflected with double dmg (Hopes AOE or smite etc)
Start the fight and you should easily survive now the first round and your fighters can most likely kill 50-70% of the small fry, after that the pillars and at last Raphael.
I'm a level 12, and all the enemies in this room are just wrecking my team members...
Precast some elementals. Set them on not following as well. Raphael is a sucker for Irresistable dance and Tasha's laughter. You can use a dome of invulnerability scroll and push anyone out that tries to enter.
If you can't get passed the fight, then something is wrong with your builds and/or use of abilities. In that case you can resort to barrelmancy.
Smokepowder barrels do force damage. Toss some arround the pillars and just behind the spot where Raphael spawns. If you have enough, toss them everywhere except the spot between the door and the portal.
It would be sad to resort to this if you never gave Raphael the chance to sing though
I have very good equipment and have been able to breeze through most of the game so far. Honestly just not sure what game you guys are playing. I must be playing a totally different one. This fight is brutal. Raphael keeps obliterating my crew...
