Disguise self issues

I got a ring that gives a bonus when shapeshifted, so I decided to dust off my helmet that gives disguise self. When going through the options I noticed two things:

1) None of the strong options work except for human. Strong drow, elf, half-elf, and tiefling fail to change your appearance.
2) Shifting to githyanki female gives the female model plus a penis. None of the other transformations genderbend you. Lae'zel's not hiding one so it's not like this is canonical for githyanki. The githyanki disguise carries it well, but I still prefer my MC's power stance during conversations to lead with her vagina. I'm pretty sure there's a hidden +1 to intimidation checks that way.

Anyway, please fix the strong models, Larian!

Strange... do you by any chance use mods? In my game all the strong models work. Maybe you tinkered with the Githyank Model during character creation. Self disguise uses the latest chosen options you did there for display reason.

Both of those are just assumptions of course.

No, no mods. I didn't even know there were mods for this game yet. I toggled the male genitals on and off during character creation, but I made a standard female half-elf for my main character.

I checked the forums and there was an earlier post saying their strong models didn't work either and they thought it was due to the most recent patch. I know the githyanki disguise model was full female when I started playing a month ago.

After digging even further I found a comment on the fextralife BG3 wiki on the page for disguise self. Back in August 4th 2023, someone noticed the same thing with githyanki female disguises, so it's more than just some setting I personally did. It's apparently not effecting everyone, but it is a bug effecting some people.
