First you cut off gales hand thus removing his gay advances before they start

Then you side with Minthara , thus Halsin and his degenerate beastly sex advances dies with him before they start

By doing so Wyll who is also gay leaves so you never get to see him offer you “an intimate private dance”

Then in Underdark siding with Nere means you kill the gay gnome couple

Going further in Act 2 , going the evil path Shadowhearth kills Nightsong and with that everyone in last night inn dies including Isobel and Barcus who are also gay , with Isobel and Ailyn being the signature gay couple

And in act 3 by siding with Bhaal you end up murdering the emperor who is of course also gay on your way to world domination.

So besides Astarion who you could also betray on several occasions, going dark urge seems like you by default end up killing every gay character by default.

So all in all the moral of this story is being evil= being homophobic

And you still did not provide a valid reason as to why I should not have this option apart from "not catering to bigots" (a label attached by you since you disregard opinions misaligned with yours). There's something to be said about the devs making the companions MC-sexual rather than having actual preferences; but otherwise I agree they just shouldn't play the game (or ever interact with reality again) if gays existing bothers them so much.

MY take is that it was just easier that way. You just concentrate your focus on the cinematics and the dialogue is basically the same for both genders. Done.

You did. You just called out all people who want to have their MC as defined orientation bigots. Let's be honest - the majority of those people will be straight since they are not thrilled about 100% of male companions being gay. Indeed and I also did point out that it is a point you can argue. Should they have a fixed sexuality to make characters more fleshed out or realistic or make them whatever to facilitate the person playing.

I do think that BG3 could have gone the Cyberpunk route and made their sexuality fixed since the game has a lot of replayability, but I imagine a lot of people would hate that.
