Astarion multiclass, no feat at lvl 8, a bug or not?

Respected Astarion early on, made him a Ranger, then worked him up to lvl 5 Ranger (Gloomstalker)
got 2 levels of Rogue
so when party leveled up to 8 and all the rest worked properly and got their Feat for lvl 8...
but Astarion did not!
made him as 3rd lvl rogue into Assassin but never got offered a feat for any subclass...very odd!


I am not very familiar with 5th ed D&D, hey I'm *real* old school
So maybe I don't get multiclassing rules, but I thought when multiclassing you only lost out on BONUS feats that *some* classes can give, but you *always* got feats every 4 TOTAL levels?

So, a bug or ... what?

You get feats depending on class level, not your char level.

There is no overall based on character level feat progression in 5e, but only based on class levels.

Well that really sucks! Never read that anywhere on build suggestions :(
oh well, Astarion still rocks as a sniper ranger/assassin though ;)

Yea put your next level into Rogue for the feat if you want.
