Free musicial proficiency past act 1?

Missed the opportunity to pick up musical proficiency in act 1 with Alfira. Any way I can get it without taking the feat or leveling bard? Even open to a mod, just sour I missed the chance back in act 1 and im all the way in act 3.

Actually, I was just about to ask about this, whether there was a way to give a character musical proficiency without expending a feat during leveling up. (I don't even necessarily want to use it in terms of game mechanics, necessarily; I just kinda wish my character could play and not be crap. Silly of me, I know, but I keep encountering musical instruments...)

My current playthrough isn't much past dealing with the Grove; it wouldn't be too terrible to load an older save if she's not still around.

And I know this is a bit of thread necromancy, but if anybody does know of another way (aside from playing a bard), I'd love to hear it, too.

Dunno if that counts in your books, but using choose your stat potion ( https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/206 ) you can give yourself proficiency with music instruments/performance.
A more lightweight solution might be Magical Musical Instruments ( https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/9238 ) though as far as I know they only allow you to join in on other bards, not start playing by yourself. So you'd still need a leading bard etc.

I meant a way to do it without mods.

The only mods I've added are QOL tweaks, like freeing up the camera or with dice skins, that kinda thing.

I like playing with the actual rules, myself.

Well, I consider at least Magical Music instruments as QOL tweak :P

Just taking a level in Bard, the Performer feat, or getting it from Alfira.
