Ah, that makes sense, thanks!
on my non-dark urge run I still found the notes talking about balthazar's apprentice Kressa Bonedaughter and her "pet". This pet is actually the dark urge. It becomes very clear if you play as dark urge and talk to her in the illithid colony. But the fact that you can find the same notes even while playing as non-dark urge means that the dark urge found in Orin's chamber was also tadpoled and crashed with us. But in this alternate version of events they went back to Baldur's Gate on their own and then got killed by Orin. The notes also mention that Kressa's "pet" was able to maintain a sense of self even when tadpoled so that could explain why they manage to get to Baldur's Gate without the protection of the artifact.
I missed that on my non-Dark Urge run. When I'm off my blood and guts kick, I'll have to look for that.
Which is why from now on i'll only keep picking DU when i start a new game and that way I can either be a murderhobo or a redeemed good gal. Or in between.
Most people refer to them as Tav since that is the default name in the custom character
