Can Hirelings die permanently?
Some situations will have party members die permanently. Can Hirelings be brought back, though?

Indeed. So are hirelings also susceptible? The Iron Throne, for example, can it permanently kill hirelings?
Always someone in your group dies, it stays in the group until you use the scroll, or if you have withers, ask him to resurrect them.

However if you missed withers, (and then you dont have hirelings) and you cant resurrect the companion, you wont be able to dismiss them from the group, so you will NEED to resurrect them.

Without being a story event, you cant have a companion to die in camp unless you kill them.

So unless you kill your hireling willingly, and without them being in your party, there isnt much for them to die permanently.

So yes, hirelings can die permanently? It's a very simple yes/no question, dunno why everyone is focusing on companions.

Again:

So your answer is YES, because there is a way it can. But not in the way you are yourself going to lengths to talk about.

And read your own post, you are making two questions.
You are not making a "simple yes or no question".

BTW, any of your group who dies in the iron throne can be resurrected because they will be still in the group, but dead. They wont vanish. You can resurrect a "destroyed body dead member of the group" by aiming the scroll at its mote, which will appear at the place immediate available from where they died.

And, on top of that, everyone is talking about companions because hirelings are companions. The accompany you.

You can't miss Withers. He shows up even if you don't free him.

The questions are:
Can hirelings die permanently?
Can hirelings be brought back?

They're the same question, since the only way someone can die permanently is if it's impossible to bring them back.
Can hirelings die permanently?
Can hirelings be brought back?

These are two questions. Someone who CAN be brought back CAN die permanently or not.

You can miss him at many points in the game, that does not mean if you missed him once, you will miss him forever.

Jesus H. Christ.

I'll just try to find a save from before the Iron Throne and see what happens, unless someone can actually answer the question.

Anything can die permanently if you fail to resurrect it. Otherwise, the answer you are seeking is no - barring narrative incidents, your party members will not permanently die unless you choose to not resurrect them.

So hirelings aren't exempt from the "narrative incidents" rule?

Alright, I checked and hirelings are indeed exempt from the "narrative incidents" rule. Unless they changed the Iron Throne so it doesn't permanently kill your party members any more.
