Well, that is shocking.
DOS is the problem, many complained about the EA surfaces and barrelmancy carry over from that game. Early on, the cantrips almost all made surfaces, and acid splash was useful because it reduced AC even if no damage done. I would see a feat or something to bring back surfaced cantrips.
