Tactician difficulty in first playthrough?
I am a DOS2 player who has played most of the game in tactician. I believe I can manage it but still wanted to ask for your opinions.

I don't recommend it as a divinity player myself, despite what everyone says, tactician difficult just means, if the enemy get a turn, your characters die.

in divinity, you manipulate turns to an extent, in this game, the INTENDED game-play is literally never entering combat or if you do, killing them before the enemy gets their turn.

Go for it but do yourself a favour and change karma dice to off.

Not the same tactician difference in difficulty as DOS2. This in is weak and lazy and only slightly harder than the normal mode. You should be fine in this game without issue. Once you get the lay of the land.

All the fights are gimmick fights. Either you know the 'trick' and delete the enemy, or they delete you. But trying to play any of the fights properly, in tactician or balanced, is just an exercise in frustration.

I couldnt even do a fight on tactician in dos2 but on here I'm just fine until that stupid camp with 100 guys. I would go tactician here, it feels perfet.

You can do it and if you are willing to use stealth and exploding barrel shenanigan's you can power through the act 1 encounters to level 5 where you hit a power curve that makes following fights a lot more manageable. Building gestalts like sorlock or sorcadin will also completely override any difficulty since most strong gestalt characters can one round every boss in the game even on tactician.
Of course you play it in tactician no point to play second time that...
... I still don't know when those allies were supposed use/call/whatever.

If you beat DOS2 on Tactician, play BG3 on Tactician. You can always turn down the difficulty if you really have to, all you lose is the achievement and the bragging rights. The reason is that a lot of the encounters are much more intersting on Tactician since you can't just bluff your way through them, you've actually got to think a bit which will make it much more rewarding. You will also have to dive a bit deeper into the 5e rule set so that will also be more intersting and satisfying.

Never really played DOS or whatever, but tactician is really easy. It probably should be renamed to normal and some hard difficulty added on top. There are few trickier battles there and there ofc, but in the end you can change difficulty whenever you want if you fail for some reason. At least try to get to level 5 which is more or less a break point for your power creep and from then it's easy sailing.

you can always adapt the difficult level so if you want to rty it than try it.

Seems like there are some mixed opinions but no strong reason not to go for it as I see it. Thank you everyone.

You can always look up online guides on how to win each fight and make overpowered toons, then come back here and brag that tactician is too easy for you. It's the fashionable thing to do around here :P

Did my first tun on tactician, and even with no prior experience and suboptimal builds/party there were parts of the game where I felt I was steamrolling. The only tact-specific enemy buff that actually made a difference were the bonuses to saving throws. It makes it kind of necessary to have a dedicated debuffer in your party if you want to reliably perform the fancier magic. Especially if you are playing ironman/honestman.

If you tend to play rpgs on higher difficulties, you will be totally fine.
