I'm not worried about if I CAN kill them all, I'm worried if I SHOULD, you know?
That is a personal choice. I know on my Half-Orc playthrough I didnt kill them. I only killed the 3 leaders and left majority of the goblins alive... after all I need to be hailed as their hero and savoir thus giving my my own personal army to fall back on.
its a shame one of them forces the entire camp to go hostile. Clearly that wasn't the original dev intent.
If trying to follow the best Lawful Good boy you can, then plenty of the goblins in the main camp have done crimes deserving of a smiting if they don't surrender to your judgement (and even then, there's hardly any civilization nearby to cart them to for judgement beyond the druids). If you want to RP it, feel free to go the nonlethal damage route and knock them all out, then flavor it as you submitting them to the Emerald Grove for determining their fate, since they were the enemy attacking them.
I'm all for letting Goblins live but this is not Eberron and these goblins seem pretty evil.
lol thanks! XD
The best part is I'm not even a Paladin, I'm doing an arcane trickster DU playthrough (resisting the DU) it's just man or man there is a LOT of huminoid corpses littering the countryside.
That has been their role in TTRPG's and CRPG's AND fiction since they were first invented.
Their culture is inherently violent and selfish. Evil, in other words. While an individual may have leanings toward some other concepts perhaps.. they aren't likely to have reached adulthood.
And, if you are actually roleplaying, is it an issue? I mean this seriously... if even goblin lives matter to that character, then act on it. You do not have to kill them all for a goodly playthrough... just the leaders. Who are obviously evil af. Irredeemable.
Do with that as you will.
yeah, it feels really out of place compared to everything else. I do hope they get around to patching that one day, though I expect we will probably have to wait for the 'enhanced edition' update
