Save Bug, not auto save. Need help.
Well first of all this game is amazing but yesterday i had a very very desapointing experience and i dont know what happened.

I loaded the game after the patch. started from the last save i had like we do normally when playing a game lol. i played for 3-4 hours maybe 5. during that time i manually saved at least 7 times just like i do normally.( I do a lot of saving) then i encountered a life termination event lol.. my game was over and i had to reload a save. My devastating bad surprise was that none of my save i did during that playthrough were recorded in my pc, there were not in the list of charging save files.... the most recent save was the one i started with at the bigining of that playthrough... is it a known bug??? I know there is a limit of auto save and the game is supposed to save over the older ones, but for manual save i dont understand.

i have enough space on the c drive where the save are recorded... i really dont know what happened. If someone can tell me if its a know issue or maybe it come from something else it woiuld be really apprciated. thanks!

Using Mods?

Check the Larian directory in AppData and see if they are actually there and maybe the game is simply not accepting them as valid saves.

If you have multiple main characters, make sure you have selected the correct one.

Yes i have 4 mods installed but they are not new. they are installed for at least 2 weeks now and playing with no problem. i will chek the folder to see if the save are there like you said.

The reason mods may mess up your save file could be because those mods you are using just haven't been updated since last time you played and after the patch. Uninstall the mods and verify your files and play without the mods.

If you don't have crossplay saves enabled, maybe turn that on and see if that helps prevent future issues.

Some mods are crashing the save at the moment, it occur if you do a trade using trade mode, if you save after a trading the game will not save and throw an error. The current workaround found on nexus and reddit is to make your trade, then open back the trade window and switch to barter mode, then you should be able to save your progress.

Every time a game has an update come out you need to remove all of your mods, update the game THEN see if the modders have/need to update their mods to work with the new update. Updates do not (and cannot possibly) take into account the effects mods will have on the system. Better yet just play the game as intended until the studio stops providing updates/DLC etc and then mod it. Either way when you change the core game on your own, any issues are yours to solve then.

I'm sorry to hear that. ;(

That is the trouble with the current BG3 mod scene. They are really not 'safe' go use (in many cases).

Even if you 'Disable' the mods, they are still in the code and active. Saving games with mods has the capability to totally bork the system as the normal BG3 may not load them, and without a funcional Mod, even the modded game may not load them.

Hard to say why the Saves are not showing up in your Larian AppData folder.

Do you get the 'Saveing' game wheel when you Quicksave or Manual Save? Are there ANY saves in the folder?
