Astarion confession scene (Act 2) not triggering after patch 3

Here is the thing, I got the scene the other day, right before the patch but didn't make a save. My last save is right in front of Moonrise Towers and normaly it should trigger upon entering the tower and with very high approval.
So today when I actually tried to trigger the scene it didn't show at all. My approval with him is very high and I even managed to get it to exceptional and still nothing. I did a few long rest in a row and still nothing.
The romance still progresses after talking to the Drow in the tower but I really wanted this scene...

Does anyone know if it was removed or does it now have other requirements to trigger?

I'm having the same issue right now! I tried long resting both before and after talking to Ketheric, and both times a Gale scene triggers ( I'm not romancing him), but no Astarion scene to speak of. Tried ignoring Gale, tried spamming long rests, but nothing.

I'm also having the same issue. I had a character that I had triggered the scene on before the patch, with a save both before the scene and during it. The save during the scene still plays correctly so it's not completely gone at least, but I can't get it to trigger from the save right beforehand either. I'm trying out some different things in act 2 to see if I can get anything to make it happen but no luck yet.

Yeahh thats a bummer. Not sure what happend there, but I am kind of disappointed. I really did work hard on his approval to get the scene (by playing a nice girl) and I was so happy when I finally got it... but anyway if you find something out, let us know... I will try some things too and keep you udated :-)

The Gale scene triggers for me as well, but this one triggers anyway if romanced or not.
Either you get the friendship scene or the one with the romance but they start out the same :-)
For me it was first Astarion scene after arriving and Moonrise, which is funny because the rest before that I got the romance one with Wyll and didn't do anything to get it more like I did go out of my way to make sure to not flirt with anyone but Astarion anyway I reloaded his scene and went to Moonrise and Astarions romance scene overwrote Wylls and a long rest later I got Gales friendship scene and nothing from Wyll :-D

Did you try long resting in the different areas?

It may be totally irrational / incorrect but I'm finding that some scenes will not trigger in some areas or are specific to a certain area so need to be concluded there, i.e. wilderness, grymforge, mountain pass and the shadow area.

Either I have a huge back log and need to do about 10 partial rests to catch up or the quest lines are fighting amongst themselves to trigger per long rest . . there is no rhyme or reason to the triggers it appears . .

Did you talk to oblodra the blood alchemist in the moonrise towers? Triggers significant Astarion dialogue.

you need to progress his quest first. if you kill the demon in the gauntlet, you should progress his quest and have his confession. I was surprised at first because I had no confession from him and tought that it is because I am durge right now, but I killed the demon, then had the raphael scene and (I am not sure if it was the same night, or the night after) I got the confession scene.

yeah that one triggers as it should and it countinues the romance as well. But you get a romance conversation upon entering Moonrise and making long rest (before you talk to her). It's a bit different and I like that one more and you only get it on very high approval and that one seems to be gone or at least triggers diffrently...

I tried it in the area before Moonrise and in Moonrise itself but I might try some others too.
Also I fought about completing his quest in Act 2 before going to Moonrise at all. Maybe it triggers after that??

Well than I guess I know what to do :-D and also makes kinda sense to get it after his quest rather than upon just entering Moonrise. Than again most people end up at Moonrise first and I guess the scene want trigger if you talk to the Drow first...

Can confirm! I just finished the quest in the gauntlet to kill the demon, took a long rest immediately to talk to Raphael and then went to moonrise towers and the confession scene prompted on first long rest :D

I can also confirm this! Killed the demon, rested to talk to Raphael, rested again and got the scene. Not sure why they moved this trigger but I’m glad to find out how to make it happen now.

As for moving the trigger kinda makes sense storywise if you think about it. You doing this for him, helping him kill a demon so he can get the information he needs, kind would make him realize some things, I guess :-D

Also, I tested things and the spot does not matter - what matters is infiltrating the towers. I just went through the main entrance (the guards will let you in without any checks), went inside just to grab that exp but did not enter the audience chamber. I warped into Last Light Inn - it triggers. It triggers in other waypoints too. So it seems the infiltration is the key to unlock this confession in patch 3.
