Just use the mod that disables the black veins.

If you want to thats up to you. I think the veins are silly so I just disable them entirely. All the powers none of the weird stuff.

You can literally step on it with no check.

Well... I won't use MOD for my first play through....
But, mmmhhh.... interesting, I might do that next playthrough (was planning on stepping on it next time, but I guess I could have my cake and eat it too, as they say! :) )

Yes you can I did it yesterday. He screeched and called me a horror and that was the end of it. Just something to keep in mind for next time.

Personally I would never play this game unmodded. Way too many bad dev choices for me to have fun with it in an unmodded state.
