Mac m1 Resolution overscaling issue

I have updated BG3 to release version full support for macs on my MacBook Pro M1 2020. After launching the game, the resolution overscales too much and i can't play normally. Tried to change the display resolution and set normal graphics settings, it's all good but i have the same issue on the next start. What should i do?

is this another way to say that when you launch the game, it's like.. zoomed in weirdly and content is cut off? cuz i have the MacBook pro 2019, trying to launch the full version of the game and when fullscreen, it's like half off the screen so text and pictures are cut off. i can't even get past the EULA and i'm so confused (i'm not tech-savvy at all and i need help)

i thought maybe i broke the game because for hours i was attempting to manually code mods but apparently i'm not the only one with the weird cropping issue

I reinstalled BG3 on m1 pro macbook, the resolution still overscale too much, I can't change graphic setting to continue playing, I even can't click the exit button.

I'm on an M1 Max Macbook Pro and have the exact same issue, can't get past the EULA screen because of the cropping/scaling issue.

ok it's good to know that several people are experiencing this problem.

have u tried to install mods? or is this issue happening straight from download for u?

Shifting desktops, ctrl-left arrow then ctrl-right arrow, for example, fixed the resolution issue for me.

Problem I have is the "Accept" button doesn't "push" when I click on it. The finger on the glove twitches, so my click is detected, but nothing happens with any of the three buttons on that page. All other mouse functions work fine.

PS: I'm on a 2019 Intel Mac, so it's not just M1s with the resolution issue.

This same problem happened to me, and the way I solved it was by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with my monitor's resolution while the game was open until I could see the menus in game. Then from there I set it to whatever resolution I need, and set the monitor's resolution back.

Worked perfectly for me and it should for you guys too. 💪🏽

yes!!! i get to the EULA screen and the accept button won't work! the finger on my cursor moves too when i click but none of the buttons do anything. what a strange glitch

I was able to find a solution that worked for me (MacBook Pro 2021 running Monterey): Download the EasyRes app from the Apple store (free). Once installed, in the top right menu bar, you can click on the icon for EasyRes and choose a screen resolution. Change the res to 3456 x 2160 (I don’t think the Hz matters but I chose 120). This allows you to see enough of the BG3 game menu to navigate to Video > Resolution and change it back to 1728 x 1117, and change to windowed mode if you’d like. For some reason the default resolution was set to 3456 x 2234 in full screen mode. I hope this helps you all as well, and if you have other solutions I’d love to hear!

Once the game is launched and on the EULA page, press the fn + f keys at the same time. The screen should jump to the bottom of the page. From there you should able to click the accept button and the buttons on following pages.

Once on the home screen, select options. In the options menu, press the fn + f keys again and the screen should adjust to the top of the screen. From there select the video tab > display mode > borderless window

Hope this is able to work y'all too and good luck with your adventure!
