(Act 2 spoiler) How to save the tieflings and gnomes ?

Edit/Update: I managed to clear it any way, by complete BS lol.

I parked 2 of the companions out of the area, then brough another companion with misty step with me.

I teleported up to get the hammer, then did misty step to inside the cell, Waited for the gnome to break the wall, He does not break the other wall when i do it this way, So i had some time to break the boat chains and then place gale near the boats (To block the game from spawning the enemies at the docks)

I then took up my staff and broke the tiefling wall myself, then as we were running back to the boat, I saw the guards come in, But just as the game tried to Initiate combat, the cutscene to leave triggered.

The cutscene and the combat went a bit back and forth, so i just spamm clicked the dialogue and managed to get away scott free.

Hey.

After both walls are broken they will start dashing towards the docks, But there are 2 guards waiting at the docks, How do i prevent these 2 from killing all the gnomes and tieflings?

Because since.. somehow the cell doorways knock you down and makes you skip a turn, so you can't catch up no matter how much your Tav or companions dashes.

You can get to the boat area without letting the gnome break out and kill the guards there yourself too. But I just did the same thing Octopuses did, killed all the guards first then freed everyone.

It's easier to wait at the far end past the cells and kill one or two guards at a time. when the guards are all killed they can all escape.

Kill the eyeballs first so no alarm. Then there are no guards at the boat.

Or do what Wulbren asked and toss him his hammer and he will break open the back wall of the gnome cell and tiefling cell and they go out that way to the cave dock avoiding the fighting (unless an eyeball or guards sees you). Easier than trying to keep them alive while fighting up to the door and outside.

Course, as mentioned above, can just kill all the guards first and then nothing left to kill the prisoners.
