Game refusing to acknowledge downloaded files. Please help!
This game is telling me that i have nothing installed and continually tries to download over 100GB of data. I have turbo ♥♥♥♥ internet so this is going to take several days. I have 155GB of baldurs gate 3 files in the correct file location. When i verify game files it just continues to try to download the 100GB. Does anyone know how i can get this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game to actually scan the files properly and notice that i allready have everything i need.

If nothing else, could try running the game from the bg3.exe?

Right Click the game in your Steam library -> Manage -> Browse local files. It's in the bin subfolder.

Sorry to hear. The update might be unavoidable at this point - the files present seem to be just the space reserved by Steam for the actual content.

The files i currently have are an exact copy of the files that my girlfriend has on her computer. Hers is capable of launching. So it cant just be a reserved space thing. I agree with your conclusion that it is unavoidable though. Just another massive tedious barrier of modern gaming. Feelsgooman. Thanks for the responses everyone.

If it is the exact copy, then you could try to change the updates to "at launch" (in the Properties, the updates are impossible to disable completely), switch Steam to the offline mode, and then launch from the bg3.exe. Might work.
