1) can you explain what window I'm supposed to be in to get to "Settings/Display" - my Steam preferences menu doesn't have Display as an option.
2) "in Video" - where or in what window would I be seeing this? Is this an in-game setting?
You need to navigate to System Settings in MacOS, not Steam, then click Displays in the left hand menu.
Resolution: Default for Display / Scaled
Brightness [slider]
[check] Automatically adjust brightness
[check] True Tone
Presets: [Apple XDR Display (P3-1600 nits)]
Refresh Rate: [ProMotion]
At the bottom are links to access settings for "Universal Control..." and "Night Shift..."
You should see a toggle that says "Show All resolutions" with a warning about scaling impacting performance (false). Likely your game is set for 4k res by default in the config file for Windows Machines. Larian could change the defualts for Mac Install.
I am also struggling with this! Cant see 3/4 of the game
Unfortunately, I listed all the toggles/settings that I see. There's nothing that says "Show All resolutions".
No sorry. With the M2 you do not need scaling of any kind.
Intel Macs, good luck.
I've just seen a video where the "show all resolutions" is under the advanced options when you have Ventura 13.3 or newer, so I am updating mine as I didn't know it hadn't done it automatically. No idea if it will work but I see no other options rn
OK All, You can also edit the User Config file manually.
Launch a Finder instance.
From the root, or Macintosh HD, Navigate to Users, then Documents, then Larian Studios, then Baldur's Gate 3, then open graphicSettings.lsx in TextEdit.
Look for screen width and height, type in a sane set of numbers and save.
Try to run game.
If it makes it worse, then you can use Steam to verify the local files and it will overwrite your config changes. Essentially a reinstall.
I am on Sonoma. I did not consider Ventura. I forgot about that as soon as Sonoma Beta dropped.
Click the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the Displays window and check "Show Resolutions as List."
