Update stuck on installing 0%

Started Steam this evening, and an update for BG3 came in. Download went perfectly, but the "is being installed" is stuck on 0%. Already cleared the download cache, restart the computer, check the file integrity, but nothing works. What can I do to fix this? I want to play the game, this is kinda frustrating :/

Check first if you have enough storage space.

I have over 100GB free on the (ssd) disk that it's installed on. Should be enough.

I had the same. Got tired of troubleshooting and playing around with the appmanifest files so I just uninstalled the whole game. Doing a fresh install gets rid of problems like that.

I have no idea if it is the actual solution, but I just diabled my Windows Defender, and boom, done within a heartbeat O.o

I'm seeing the same on my Steam Deck. I get off work in 14 minutes and want to play. Please do not make me re-download the whole game again :(

For me it works after verifying the game files.

Windows defender disable or verifying files didn't work for me.

i verified files, and turned windows defender off. didnt work. I cleared download cache and it made me wait to close the bg3 update, after it closed and i logged back in voila bg3 was updated. I have never had an issue updating a steam game. this is strange to me.

installed a "generated-folder type mod" removing the modded models folder and verifying game files, waiting for the update "installing" message took a bit but it worked eventually

Hi all, If u have problems, go close steam, and open it admin mode, good game all

I did all of the above (aside from uninstalling the full game as I would like to avoid it...). Anything else to try ?
