Mac Minimum Requirements Changed - Beware!

In amongst all the joy of finally having the Mac version out, be aware that they have changed minimum processor requirements. I'm still for now downloading to see if it will work but there's a certain amount of dread that after all the waiting it still might be pointless.

Bruhhh, I'm going I might cry if I can't run this. I have an intel and it ran EA smooth at medium settings. I'm hoping this will be enough to run the game at low or very low settings at this point.

The M1 (non pro) is still low for the minimum requirements. Fanless MacBook Airs and iPads have this chip. I doubt the requirements have appreciably changed. They’ve just been modernised to reflect the fact Apple doesn’t sell Intel Macs anymore.

I also doubt it would let you download it on an Intel Mac if it wasn’t compatible. I have an i9 MacBook Pro so I’m sure it’ll be fine.

I am not happy about this either. I bought into EA late but figured the full version was coming on August 3 so no worries. That got delayed and now they've changed the specs on what can run it. I'm downloading it as we speak to see how it performs. I ran EA on my machine on really high settings without much trouble and if I dropped it down to around medium settings across the board it was fine.

I have a 27" iMac from 2017 with a 4.2 GHz i7 processor, Radeon Pro 580 with 8 GB RAM, 64GB of DDR4 RAM. I'll try to post back here with how it works for me.

I am having the same freak out! Trying to download now and see if I can run it. My work computer is probably an M1 but my new company probably won't let me play on it.

Definitely let us know about your experience! We've got a Mac in the family that was fine in EA but does not meet these new specs, but I can't test it out until getting home from work in several hours.

As the OP noted, those minimum specs were changed today. During early access, the minimum specs allowed for older, Intel-based Macs. When the game was released in August for PC, the store page showed that it had also been released for Mac, even though it had not been. During all that time, the minimum specs listed were lower.

So, many Mac users bought it and played it in early access and many others bought it when they thought it had been released. They all would have had a reasonable expectation that the minimum specs listed were, indeed, the minimum specs. There might have been a reasonable expectation that the specs would change from early access to release, but that doesn't help the people who bought it when Steam listed it as actually having been released.

How large is the download for mac supposed to be? I see 150GB recommended space but the game download only looks to be 91gb

I'm in the same boat. I have a maxed out i9 2019 MBP with 32gigs of ram and this was the recommended spec, now there's ZERO intel on the min specs list. After all the waiting this is a major disappointment. If and when anyone gets confirmation that it'll run on and intel Mac, please post it here.

I have a 2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 Macbook 2019 with 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 and AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8 GB Graphic Card.
