[Spoilers]Ketheric’s Trust
- Kill everyone in Moonrise Towers. Group by non-hostile group. No worries, they are REALLY low on perception and understanding.

- Reach the roof. Attack Ketheric’s bodyguards and kill them. No worries again, Ketheric is even lower in perception and understanding, he will not notice the battle 5 feet away.

- Talk to Ketheric and select ‘Attaaaaaack!’

- Given that you haven’t been to Shar’s Gauntlet RUUUUUUN! Bad idea!

- Go to Shar’s Gauntlet and meet Balty.

- Listen to this beautiful line and try not to laugh. Narrator: This necromancer has Ketheric’s trust. Helping him could be just what you need to gain access to the man himself.

Really, narrator? You think? 😂

I don't think the game expects you do the quest backwards lol

LOL. Okay, that's pretty funny.

Yeah, there are multiple mentions Ketheric is unkillable and you need to find what is keeping him from being killed, so attacking him before finding that out not in your best interests.

Weeell, we’re a bunch of special tadpoled warriors so needed to double check if he was actually invulnerable to us. I mean sure a goblin couldn’t kill him but we’re really special. Had to try before running off to find some relic.

On the other hand, if you save Moonrise tower for last then the prisoners die.

You CAN do everything up until the actual relic part, they even put a convenient fast travel spot there so you can leave and finish up things before continuing.

It usually seems best to go to moonrise and do the side content there, then leave before actually fighting the place (though all that pre-killing OP did probably made things super easy)

That's a funny edge case. The game actually normally does very well at reacting to the player in my experience, but it doesn't account for everything.

Just three rude gnomes I saved, I’m kinda short on tieflings.

Kinda. I’m curious if I’ll be able to recruit Jaheira, who has been quite nice to me. Didn’t even try to drug me since I saved Isobel before talking to her.

She hasn’t mentioned the suspicious lack of tieflings at the last light so there’s hope.

Should be able to. Or at least I was when I went past the Grove (the tieflings probably died) and the Inn (Isobel did not die).
Though, Jaheira joined as a companion only after killing Ketheric, while she could join as a follower earlier.

Was it supposed to be fun in any way ?
If someone finds funny someone wielding their ignorance like a sword and stupidity like a shield, then maybe.

But something actually useful to know is that if you read the books, or spoke to people about the thing, it is clear that Ketheric does no CARE if you kill everyone. To him, it is just get some other idiots to replace and business as usual.

The narrator is not there to tell you how to play the game, the narrator is there to tell you things that otherwise you would perceive by your senses IRL.

If you are doing a dumb thing, the narrator will narrate your dumbness.
Hawke Sep 21, 2023 @ 7:33pm
The narrator failed to notice that there was nothing between Ketheric Thorm and the party except his invincibility, so it is a bug or an oversight by the developer.

A. I read the books. The fact that Lord X thinks he can replace the plebs in his household anytime doesn’t mean he is ok with someone coming in and slaughtering everyone in his house and doesn’t even change his dialog lines to register the fact.

B. I play the game using the options and opportunities the game itself offers while roleplaying my character. I do not meta and I do not optimise. Killing everyone in Moonrise and attacking Ketheric is my roleplay. I will not analyse why, it would take too much out of scope to explain.

C. Your response was rude. If you want to interact further be polite, being respectful to other players is required by the forum rules. Otherwise have a good day.
