Familiar & wild shape
Things I wish would scale better in game. I think they did the ranger animal companion well. Every several levels each companion gets increased stats, new abilities, even cooler appearances. This keeps all the companions viable throughout the game. Compare this to the summon familiar familiar.....first off all the familiars except the raven are useless due to no move speed/ inability to penetrate anything's AC/have 1 HP so even if they do get to the enemy they're killed immediately. (The raven is just useful because it can fly and blind). In addition the familiar does not scale at all.....Basically making it a throwaway spell after the very early game. To my knowledge that is not how it works in actual DND.....other summon spells let you summon stronger versions or more of a summon at higher spell levels, but not summon familiar......

And wildshape I don't know why they wouldn't just implement the same changes they did for the animal companion. Give each wildshape new abilities as well as increased stats so they remain viable for use. If this would be too annoying to do for all the wildshapes, then I'd honestly rather have less wildshapes but better quality/better scaled wildshapes then be able to turn into a bajillion different animals I'm going to use once or never. As it is right now once you get the next "tier" of wild shapes, you basically never use the previous shapes again. And it is especially bad when you realize the last wildshapes you get are at level 10, meaning you don't even get ones that are really viable for end end game. I'm on act 3 and myrmidon form has some neat abilities but the damage just is not there and I often find myself not even using wildshape as a result despite being the subclass of druid that is supposed to mainly use wildshaping.

I dunno I would just love to see improvements of this kind to wildshaping and familiars!

wildshape is fine for 1 reason: the damage you take isn't real. So you can pop into whatever has the most health, run up the middle, eat their first round bombs and arrows and spells etc, get knocked back, then bring in the rest of the team against their reduced firepower. The AI is front-loaded and will consume all its toys right off. If it scaled (scale what, AC? damage? keep some gear effects? something else?) better, 150 something false hit points may be OP.

I play druid in any and every game that has them, I can't stand how they implemented druid in BG. Wildshapes felt bland and boring, out of wildshape was mediocre at best.
