Whats up with Cazadors Attic?
Been up there because I like exploring everything, but it just feels like content is missing or I just overlooked something, there are so many rooms with hidden doors, and given the usual structure of the game, this means at least something interesting can be found, but apart from some Letters about Cazadors ancestors nothing can be found, which feels off compared to the rest of the game.

True. I just spent damn near an hour in the attic trying to find the path forward to Cazador not realizing I had missed another route. All of the notes and journal entries tease that you will be encountering a woman who turns to a vampire against her will so I was expecting a fight or something hidden up there but...nothing. Also, if you make it to the bottom floors of the dungeon there is another area with a bunch of plates, a locked door, and a lever that seems to do nothing.

I was wandering around for ages and also couldnt work out how to access Dungeon as all the guides just said access the office after the fight with wolves, werewolves and bats/rats go on the dais and you are ported there!!?? Couldnt see dais. However I did find one thin in the very top of attic (up a ladder after the secret buttons) i found a silver key in a chest.
Returning to the hexagonal office I noticed that if moved the opulent chest there was a hatch below it (none of the guides had been mentioning this ) - the key opens that hatch.

TBH, consensus seems to be the thing in the basement was meant to be a puzzle, but it was never finalized. Who knows what would have happened if you solved it. BTW, I'm Mr. oblivious, I only just recently realized there's a brain puzzle to solve inside the Mind Flayer Colony. (Rewards are meh - but it's there.)

There's nothing up in the attic. I wandered around a lot myself in my first playthrough, trying to figure out if anything important was supposed to be up there. Isn't as far as I can tell.

So, for sure the basement appears to be unfinished content, and maybe you were supposed to find something in the attic, but there's nothing there now.

BTW, in my first playthrough I literally killed Cazador by blowing him off the platform he was standing on. I didn't think that would work. The guy can turn into mist or a cloud of bats and can fly. But it worked. And I do see they patched that in later patches. Shame. I love a good exploit.

It's cazadors side project he is really into making puzzles but kept procrastinating and then you found it, so it's kinda pointless to finish now!

Not sure why everyone says there's nothing up there.
There's a room behind the initial altar that you see when you climb up the ladder. You can access it by entering the second room and then finding a door along the wall. There's an additional button in there. If you press it TWO TIMES, it opens a secret room with a pile of treasure. Additionally, if you break the crystal vase in there, you get a key to the catacombs.

But those are the catacombs with the non-functional puzzle, yes?

At first I also expected to meet "someone", which would have been great, but all the notes and books tell you basically the entire story of "that someone", including what has become of her - or better, WHO she had become (in other words it tells you why it's all empty). But yes, you'd need to read it all, including the books/notes that are also found in other places.

It's a side story with more context to what kind of person Cazador is and gives a bit history to everything. IMHO, the "other person" could be a great point to continue in some future games, if any of the writers want that story to continue. But for now it's background and lore to give some more atmosphere to the place.

You can re-read it all here, if you want.[bg3.wiki]
