Some Mods will inject DLLs into the game in order to implement the changes. What that means is that the core of the game has been changed and just copying the binaries around wont fix anything. Nor will 'disabling' the Mod, the changed code is still there and active, even if not being used.
Making a new game character will also do nothing as the Mods are still there and active.
